The ascent up Fox's path is from the hotel car park and the famous Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre is 15 mins by car making Gwesty Gwernan an ideal location for walkers/climbers, mountain bikers and anglers.
The present day hotel is a mix of old and new, once being a gentlemen's hunting lodge and its owners Geraint, Eleri & Ruth follow the philosophy of offering guests good service, excellent food, fine wine and real ale in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the hotel and bar area and safe secure storage is available for bikes.
The Bar
The heart of the Gwernan is its bar with traditional wood paneling, stone walls and open log fire. where many a friendship has been formed between visitors and locals through a mutual interest in the area and the countryside. All visitors to the Gwernan are welcomed as 'locals'.
Restaurant
In the restaurant we offer good home cooking with locally sourced ingredients, fine wines, leather club chairs and an open log fire. What better way to end an evening after a day's outdoor activities or a relaxing day on the lake.
The restaurant is open to non-residents between 6.30 and 8.30 Tuesday to Saturday, and to guests only Sunday and Monday evenings between 7.00 and 8.00.
