Welcome to Gwesty Gwernan Hotel and Fishery

Gwesty'r Gwernan Hotel is a 6 bedroom hotel with its own 12 acre lake 2 miles out of Dolgellau with Cadair Idris for its back garden, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.

The ascent up Fox's path is from the hotel car park and the famous Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre is 15 mins by car making Gwesty Gwernan an ideal location for walkers/climbers, mountain bikers and anglers.

The present day hotel is a mix of old and new, once being a gentlemen's hunting lodge and its owners Geraint, Eleri & Ruth follow the philosophy of offering guests good service, excellent food, fine wine and real ale in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Well behaved dogs are welcome in the hotel and bar area ,and ample free car parking space and safe secure storage is available for bikes.

The Bar

The heart of the Gwernan is its bar with traditional wood paneling, stone walls and open log fire. where many a friendship has been formed between visitors and locals through a mutual interest in the area and the countryside. All visitors to the Gwernan are welcomed as 'locals'.Our bar has a good selection of fine wines,bottled welsh beer and real ale and at the last count a selection of 28 whiskeys!

Restaurant

We serve food in the restaurant and the bar from 12.00-3.00pm and 6-9.00pm.Favourites include our welsh beefburgers topped with 'Hen Sir' cheddar,welsh sirloin steak, hake and chips, Sunday roast and our welsh cheeseboard. We serve the best of local produce at breakfast lunch and dinner.

We are open to non residents Thursday Friday and Saturday 12.00-3.00pm and 6.00-9.00pm,Sundays 12.30-3.30pm.
